Edoardo Sansonne is a producer, singer, and composer of electronic music. He debuted in 2020 under the name Kawabate with the track Epicentro, released in Mutants Mixtape Vol 2 alongside Arca and other international artists. His work spans composition, sound installations, video art, theatre, and contemporary dance, with a focus on the relationship between voice, landscape, and collective memory.
He has studied voice across Europe and the United States, attending workshops and training programs with Elise Witt, Oskar Boldre, Anita Daulne of Zap Mama, and Nico Note, as well as voice and movement training with Rhiannon from Bobby McFerrin’s vocal circle and the choreographer Margie Gillis. He has explored overtone singing with Alash Ensemble and Agnese Banti and developed advanced vocal research with Miriam Granatello focused on extreme vocal practices. His electronic music formation has been shaped by mentorship paths with Alberto Ricca Bienoise and Spencer Doran of Visible Cloaks.
Over the years he has collaborated with numerous artists and institutions within the contemporary performing arts scene, including Alberto Ricca Bienoise, Karima 2G, Irene Russolillo, Elisa Sbaragli, Fabio Brusadin of Kokoschka Revival, Luca Brinchi of Santasangre and Daniele Spanò, Mauro Pace of NONE, and many others.
In the past year he has taken part in international productions such as If There Is No Sun by Irene Russolillo, Karima 2G, and Luca Brinchi, created between Italy and Senegal. In 2024 he made his debut as a performer in Fàtico by Irene Russolillo. In the same year he contributed to the Italian Armenian production Fatigue with Irene Russolillo and to the creation of Se domani by Elisa Sbaragli, presented at the 2024 and 2025 NID Platform.
